Air Handling Unit (AHU)
AHUs with GI or CRC body, centrifugal fan, coil and filter section, in single or double skin construction.
Our air handling units are built with a GI or CRC sheet body for long, trouble-free service. A unit consists of a centrifugal fan, a coil section and a filter section.
They are used in commercial buildings, offices, clean rooms, food industries and pharmaceutical industries, in a range of capacities to suit the application.
How it works
Air is drawn through the filter section, passes over the coil, where it is cooled or heated, and is then delivered by the fan into the ducting that serves the space.
The grade of filter is selected by the cleanliness the space needs. For critical areas, finer filters are placed in stages.
Typical arrangement
General layout for this type of equipment. The final arrangement depends on your plant.
- Return / fresh air
- Filter section
- Coil section
- Centrifugal fan
- Supply duct
Types and configurations
| Construction | Single skin or double skin. |
|---|---|
| Filters | HDPE, HEPA or ULPA, depending on the application. |
| Body | GI or CRC sheet. |
Maintenance
- Filters are replaced on a schedule or when the pressure drop reaches the limit.
- Coils need to be kept clean, and drain pans should drain freely.
- Fan bearings and drives are checked as for any centrifugal fan.
Often specified with
- Pressurised Ventilation SystemFiltered air supply that keeps the room at a higher pressure than outside, so dust cannot enter.
- Industrial Ventilation SystemVentilation systems that remove hot and toxic air from the working area and bring in fresh air.
- Centrifugal FanSISW and DIDW centrifugal fans with backward or forward curved impellers, built to the duty you need.
