Ventilation and cooling

Pressurised Ventilation System

Filtered air supply that keeps the room at a higher pressure than outside, so dust cannot enter.

A pressurised ventilation system supplies filtered air to the working area so that the pressure inside is higher than the ambient pressure outside. This higher pressure stops dust and contaminants from entering, and keeps the area clean and well ventilated.

How it works

Outside air passes through inlet louvers and a double-stage filter, and a fan pushes it into the room. Because more air is supplied than leaks out, the room stays slightly above outside pressure, and air flows outwards through gaps instead of dusty air flowing in.

Where the room also needs cooling, the system can be combined with an evaporative cooling system. We supply this on request.

Typical arrangement

General layout for this type of equipment. The final arrangement depends on your plant.

  1. Inlet louvers
  2. Double-stage filter
  3. DIDW centrifugal fan
  4. Pressurised room

Maintenance

  • Filters are the main service item. A clogged filter lowers the airflow and the room pressure along with it.
  • Doors and openings should be kept closed in normal use, or the pressure will not be held.
