ID Fan
Induced draft fans for boilers, furnaces, ovens and dust collectors, with heat slinger and high-temperature paint.
An ID (induced draft) fan sits at the outlet side of a system and pulls the gas through it. Our ID fans are used with boilers, furnaces, dust collectors and ovens.
They are made in different capacities and static pressures to the customer's requirement, from materials procured from reliable vendors.
How it works
The fan creates a negative pressure in the equipment ahead of it, drawing flue gas or process air through the boiler, furnace or filter and discharging it to the chimney or stack.
Because flue gases are often hot, the fan has to be built for the temperature. The drive arrangement (direct, V-belt or coupled) is chosen according to the temperature of the air or gas handled.
Typical arrangement
General layout for this type of equipment. The final arrangement depends on your plant.
- Boiler / furnace / oven
- Dust collector
- ID fan
- Chimney
Types and configurations
| SISW | Single inlet, single width, backward curved impeller vanes. |
|---|---|
| Drive | Direct, V-belt or coupled, depending on the temperature of the gas. |
Features
- Impeller statically and dynamically balanced
- Heat slinger provided
- Painted with high-temperature aluminium paint
- Higher efficiency and lower input BHP
Maintenance
- Bearing temperature and vibration should be monitored, particularly on hot-gas duty.
- Ash or dust deposits on the impeller should be cleaned to keep it balanced.
- The heat slinger and bearing cooling arrangement should be kept clear.
Often specified with
- Centrifugal FanSISW and DIDW centrifugal fans with backward or forward curved impellers, built to the duty you need.
- Pulse Jet Dust CollectorBag-filter dust collectors with reverse pulse jet cleaning, plus cyclones and multicyclones for heavy dust loads.
- Fume ScrubberPacked bed, venturi and impinging jet wet scrubbers for process fumes and polluting gases.
