Centrifugal Fan

SISW and DIDW centrifugal fans with backward or forward curved impellers, built to the duty you need.

Our centrifugal fans are built for industrial processes, ventilation and air pollution control. They are made in different capacities and static pressures, as the application requires.

The impellers are statically and dynamically balanced for smooth running. The designs aim at good efficiency and lower input BHP, which helps bring down the recurring electricity cost.

How it works

Air enters the impeller along the shaft, is thrown outwards by the rotating blades and leaves through the scroll casing at a higher pressure. This makes centrifugal fans suitable for systems with ducting, filters or scrubbers, where resistance has to be overcome.

Backward curved blades are generally chosen for higher efficiency on cleaner air. Forward curved blades suit lower-pressure, higher-volume duties. The right choice depends on the application.

Typical arrangement

General layout for this type of equipment. The final arrangement depends on your plant.

  1. Inlet / duct
  2. Centrifugal fan
  3. Discharge duct
  4. Stack or room

Types and configurations

SISWSingle inlet, single width.
DIDWDouble inlet, double width.
ImpellerBackward curved or forward curved vanes.
Spark-proof constructionAvailable where the application needs it.

Maintenance

  • Bearings should be lubricated and checked on a regular schedule.
  • Build-up of dust on the impeller can cause imbalance and vibration, so it should be cleaned where the air carries dust.
  • V-belt drives need periodic tension and alignment checks.
